About MePaul Winfield, Independent Financial Adviser
I am married with two grown up daughters and currently live in Lichfield though I originate from the Black Country. Geographically I mainly cover the Midlands and Staffordshire where I have operated for 28 years delivering professional advice to both personal and small business clients.
After graduating in Applied Biology in 1987 I followed a short career in Pharmaceuticals, then Engineering sales and in 1994 became a Financial Adviser with the Pearl Assurance and then went Independent in 1998. (Between 2006 and 2010 I had the privilege of working as an IFA within a High-Level Tax Advisory practice where I gained invaluable tax advice experience relating to High-Net-Worth Individuals and Sole Trader/ Limited Company businesses.)
Over that time, I have witnessed a quantum leap in the quality and depth that financial advice can offer.
I have considerable experience across all the generations and have seen the stories of many of my clients’ lives unfold and the change in advice needed.
Many of my clients are small businesses and I specialise in helping them understand how they can use their profits to maximise their retirement via pensions and the associated tax advantages.
My key areas of expertise include investment and wealth management, pension and retirement planning, Inheritance tax planning and lifetime financial planning including tax planning, focusing on Cash Flow planning. I put my clients at the heart of everything I do ensuring that I operate with the highest level of integrity and transparency.
I am passionate about helping my clients understand their options and enjoy demystifying some of the more complex areas that some may find daunting. I am passionate in this area and concentrate on using visual schematics rather than the normal War & Peace presentations.
In providing a bespoke recommendation and through an excellent ongoing service, I am committed to a successful long-term relationship with my clients, guiding them through the many different lifetime events that most all of us experience, some inevitable, and others unexpected, and helping them achieve their aspirations and goals.
An Integrated Approach to Financial Services
Below you can see what advice I specialise in. If there are additional services you require, Tavistock Investments provides support in other aspects of financial advice, and I can put you in touch with someone.
My specific areas of expertise:
Investment & wealth management
Creating, growing, and then maintaining wealth is key to successful financial planning and should be part of a longer-term investment strategy.
Talking about illness, disability or death is never an easy conversation to have but protecting against the unexpected will help with financial security and ensure your family can cope should the worst happen.
Lifetime financial planning
If you have a Defined Benefit or Final Salary pension scheme, there may be individual circumstances where a pension transfer could be advantageous.
Later life & estate planning
We spend a lifetime building our wealth, so it’s important to find the most effective way to protect your assets, in order for you to pass them on to those you love as efficiently as possible.
Pensions & retirement planning
When you think about the future, what does your retirement look like to you? An important question which we can help you answer.
Wills & power of attorney
Making a Will is essential to ensuring that your wealth benefits those whom you choose and is not taken by taxation, unnecessary legal costs and beneficiaries chosen by the law.
Business protection planning
The importance of business protection is often overlooked but is key to helping business owners plan for the unexpected.
