Joan GrayIndependent Financial Adviser, Abacus Associates
I am an independent financial adviser located in Cheltenham, with clients in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewksbury, Evesham, Worcester, Cirencester and the Cotswolds.
In volatile, uncertain times, with the introduction of pension freedoms and the complexities that go with it, I believe it is crucial that people seek independent advice. With forty years in financial services, originally in Lloyds Private Banking, then Employee Benefits experience in City of London, I have had my own business since 1992. I provide independent financial advice on investments, retirement planning and protection. I am passionate about facilitating early retirement and helping my clients to enjoy life. I am a Chartered Financial planner, holding the Chartered Insurance Institute qualification and the Advanced Financial Planning qualification. I have a Masters degree and am studying for a Doctorate.
I consider myself to provide a bespoke, client – focused service with the emphasis on a personal touch. I pride myself on creative solutions for my clients. My objective is to build long term client relationships and provide an excellent level of client service, evidenced by the long – standing relationships I maintain with my clients. As part of my service, I help clients with Wills, Powers of Attorney and Will Trusts. There is no fee for my initial consultation appointment and when my clients are completely comfortable with my recommendations, fees would be explained and charged.
I look forward to hearing from you and being of service to you for many years to come. I can meet you in the comfort of your home, or at our office in Hereford.
An Integrated Approach to Financial Services
Below you can see what advice I specialise in. If there are additional services you require, Tavistock Investments provides support in other aspects of financial advice, and I can put you in touch with someone.
My specific areas of expertise:
Investment & wealth management
Creating, growing, and then maintaining wealth is key to successful financial planning and should be part of a longer-term investment strategy.
Talking about illness, disability or death is never an easy conversation to have but protecting against the unexpected will help with financial security and ensure your family can cope should the worst happen.
Lifetime financial planning
If you have a Defined Benefit or Final Salary pension scheme, there may be individual circumstances where a pension transfer could be advantageous.
Later life & estate planning
We spend a lifetime building our wealth, so it’s important to find the most effective way to protect your assets, in order for you to pass them on to those you love as efficiently as possible.
Pensions & retirement planning
When you think about the future, what does your retirement look like to you? An important question which we can help you answer.
Wills & power of attorney
Making a Will is essential to ensuring that your wealth benefits those whom you choose and is not taken by taxation, unnecessary legal costs and beneficiaries chosen by the law.
